Committed To Safety
The Hollidaysburg Police Department is located in the Municipal Building at 401 Blair Street and provides 24-hour police services to residents and visitors of the Borough. The Department is comprised of nine full-time police officers, four civilian clerks, school crossing guards, and one administrative assistant to the Chief of Police.
The mission of the Hollidaysburg Police Department is to ensure that Hollidaysburg remains a safe and peaceful community. The Department is committed to protecting the public through strong relationships built on fairness, integrity, pride, and mutual respect. Maintaining trust and open communication with the community remains a core focus of daily operations.
Hollidaysburg continues to be one of the safest communities in Blair County. While the Department recognizes that even one crime is too many, efforts remain focused on maintaining this positive trend through transparency and inclusive policing practices. Since 2008, all police vehicles have been equipped with Mobile Data Terminals and in-car cameras. In 2019, the Department implemented officer-worn body cameras to further enhance accountability and public trust.
Safety Initiatives and Enforcement Efforts
In addition to combating criminal activity, the Department places a strong emphasis on traffic enforcement, contributing to consistently low numbers of serious injury crashes in recent years. These efforts, along with the Department’s ongoing commitment to excellence, have resulted in the Hollidaysburg Police Department receiving the AAA Platinum Award year after year.
With five schools located within the Borough, the safety of students is taken very seriously. The Department maintains close, day-to-day working relationships with school administrators and staff to ensure a safe environment for pupils.
